When do I need to see a sinus specialist with advanced fellowship training?

Diseases of the nose and sinuses are managed primarily by Otolaryngologists (Ear, Nose and Throat doctors). If your problems have not responded to conventional techniques or more importantly if your symptoms did not improve after surgery, it is reasonable to be evaluated by someone who has advanced training in sinus surgery, sinusits and nasal disease.

Additionally, if you have been diagnosed with a tumor of the nose or sinuses it is possible that the tumor can be removed via your nostril, without facial incisions. This requires advanced training and expertise in endoscopic techniques offered by a fellowship trained sinus specialist.
