Balloon Sinuplasty

Sinuplasty is a technique where a small balloon is introduced into the openings of the sinuses, is inflated and is then removed.  When Sinuplasty is performed instead of traditional sinus surgery, there is significanly less pain, no need for packing and limited need to clean (debride) your nose after surgery.  While not the right choice for all sinus disease, for the appropriate candidate it offers a minimally invasive option.  No longer considered experimental, this technique is covered by almost all insurance providers.

Dr. Dubin and Dr. Reh Have  extensive, long term experience performing Sinuplasty and in fact Dr. Dubin was the first ENT in Baltimore to utilize the balloon dilation system (Sinuplasty).  In early 2005, prior to commercial availability of the system,  Dr. Dubin  participated in the first clinical trial in the United States on Sinuplasty while completing his fellowship in advanced sinus surgery under Frederick Kuhn.  Sinuplasty was not offered by other ENT’s in Baltimore until late 2006.  Official Balloon Sinuplasty Page.
